Witch Wood  1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Location: Peebles, Scottish Borders

Client: M Russell & S Lakeman

Value: £400k

The main house and tree house both have an internally exposed green oak frame with Scottish Larch external weather board cladding and cedar shingles to the tree house and dormer roofs. The use of a green oak frame provides a long lasting structural solution with oak frames 300 years plus still standing.

Green oak is used both internally and externally as a structural material. The tree house posts and edge beams are external and exposed but the structural integrity will be maintained. Internally the oak frame is treated with oil enhancing the material and nourishing the oak.
